Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas? Now the spookiest time of the year is over, it’s time to take festive planning seriously, sorry.

Love it or hate it, Christmas happens every year and either leaves us feeling excited and full of festive joy or disheveled, unorganised and a little bit bah-humbug!

The good news? We have a solution for both…

Maryculter House.

This year we’re offering a Christmas Day Family Carvery in our Great Hall, Maryculter House is steeped in so much history that it will spark enough conversation to keep both kids and adults entertained whilst catching up over the dinner table.

Enjoy some British bubbles on arrival and relax knowing the family is catered for with our array of starter, main course, and dessert options. You can view our full carvery menu here: http://www.maryculterhouse.com/perch/resources/mchfestivebrochuree-mail-1.pdf.

Our offering is all local produce, including Barra Bronze turkey and sirloin of Aberdeenshire beef, we can also happily cater to all your dietary requirements.

And of course, we finish with freshly brewed tea or coffee and mincemeat pies to help stave off that post-dinner snooze.

If you would like something extra special this Christmas or really want to just ‘leave it to us’ we also have our ‘Your Festive Stay’ package.

Join us on Christmas Eve for dinner and enjoy Christmas Carols in the Templars Hall with a mug of mulled wine. If you wish to attend, later in the evening we will provide transport to and from watch night service. You can expect warm whisky toddy’s and mincemeat pies on your return – sounds perfect, right?

Christmas morning brings a full Scottish breakfast to devour at your leisure. Don’t eat too much though as we have our Christmas carvery lunch from midday in the Templars suite.

I know, it sounds like a lot of eating doesn’t it? Don’t worry, you can burn off any excess energy by taking a brisk (or leisurely) walk around our beautiful grounds, seriously, it’s picture-perfect with or without a dusting of snow.

In the evening, enjoy board games next to our roaring fire, delight in your final of feast of a buffet supper or just sit back and relax in the company of your family.

On boxing day, a full Scottish breakfast will be prepared before you check out and leave us to the washing up!

We also have our late lunch option from 3pm on Christmas day, the perfect and relaxed choice if you fancy a lie-in. Maybe it’s just the two of you this year or perhaps you have grown up family that isn’t easily awoken by the excitement of ‘has Santa been?!’.

So, whether you love or loath Christmas, Maryculter House will provide a memorable family experience you won’t forget.
